September Glossybox!

For a while now, I've been looking into trying out a monthly beauty subscription box. There are so many to choose from now, and with mixed reviews from various you never really know which one to choose. Well, I went with my gut on this one!

I chose Glossybox! Even though I'd had mixed reviews about them, they seemed to give you the most for your money. And as I could cancel my subscription anytime (I chose the monthly subscription), I knew that if I really didn't like it I could cancel and try another company.

Firstly, I definitely wasn't disappointed with what I got for my money! I was expecting them all to be tiny testers that would only have a couple of uses in them. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found that some of the products sent to me were in fact the actual sizes of the original products!

I actually haven't had a chance to read the magazine yet, but I had a quick flip through, and it looks really good! Short but sweet :)

So let’s take a look at what I got!

Elizabeth Arden Untold Perfume
So this is the Elizabeth Arden Untold Perfume. This is actually the first product I tried out of all of them as I adore Elizabeth Arden products. I love it when I get them as gifts, as I get to try out new products before (possibly) buying them again! This scent is a fruity/floral mix that really celebrates the modern woman, a mix of sophisticated and fun. This actually reminds me of my childhood, of tea parties and summer days, pink dresses and ballet, so the scent stayed with me long after it wore off. A couple of drops is all you need, and it isn't overpowering. Its almost more of a background smell, it becomes part of your own scent. I know I've got really deep and emotional about this- you may be thinking 'Its only a scent! Chill!' but this struck a personal chord with me, which is why I'm so in love with it!!! I can't recommend it enough! 5 out of 5

Eylure Pre-glued Lashes
This is the only product out of the five that I haven't tried yet, as I only wear false lashes on special occasions. My lashes are quite long already, so sometimes I don't really need them. However, I am a big fan of Eylure products so from past experience I would recommend these. Plus, I find pre-glued so much easier than having to apply the glue yourself, especially if you're in a rush. So from past experience, I give it a 4 out of 5.

TONI&GUY HairMeetWardrobe Classic Shine & Gloss Serum
This is the limited edition packaging for the TONI&GUY HairMeetWardrobe by Lulu Kennedy. This is a great serum that banishes frizz, and makes hair silky smooth. It smells sooooo lovely, but use sparingly; you only need 1 or 2 pumps to work through your hair. Use it after you've blow-dried too to get the best effect. 4 out of 5

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eye Liner
My experiences with felt tip like eyeliners in the past have not all been good ones, but this one by Be A Bombshell really changed my mind. This liner is really easy to apply; the tip gives you the flexibility of a small thin line, or a big chunky line. Also, if you make a mistake, its really easy to take off without smudging too much. And it dries instantly- definitely a plus if you're applying on the go. If I'm doing a cat's eye flick (my usual everyday look), I tend to do the flick first if I'm using a felt tip liner, as it makes it easier to work with. It lasted about 9 hours, including surviving a 1 and a half hour intense ballet lesson, so I'd say that's pretty good! 5 out of 5

HD Brows Blusher
I was a little disappointed with this blusher, as when I received it I found that it was smashed :( I don't know if this happened in transport, or whether it happened at Glossybox. However, I'll have a go at repairing it, as its a pretty simple process using alcohol sprayed on to the product. Despite the fact it was broken, it's actually a really good blusher. I don't usually use blusher a lot as I have quite pink cheeks naturally, but this looks great over foundation as it gives your cheeks an airbrushed look, and makes it look very natural. It also lasted my ballet lesson without smudging or making me look like a tomato. If you want a barely there look, then buff it in really well into your cheeks. Due to the smashed product, however much I liked the blusher, I give it a 3 out of 5.

So overall I was pretty impressed with what I got, but I'm not 100% convinced on Glossybox. I'll be giving them another shot with next month's box though, to see if the breakage was a one off.

So have any of you guys tried Glossybox? Did you love it, or is there another compnay you would recommend?

Gx
