I've been wanting to do this video for a while now. Sometimes, it can be hard to be happy all the time, so I wanted to create a video that highlighted some happy things that have happened in my life recently. And it really helped me keep positive about things. I wanted to share this in case this helped any of you in any way- please do let me know if it does, and you do a video/blog post/general social media post about it! I would love to see them :)
Give that thumbs up button some love and leave a happy comment :)
Keep smiling!

Sometimes I really forget how lucky I am. I have been lusting after a Naked palette since forever, and always got the green eyed monster whenever I saw someone with one. However, while I was out shopping with my boyfriend one day, we came across the Urban Decay stand in House of Fraser. I went straight over to the palettes, and after I explained to him how they were one of the coolest things since sliced bread but were crazy expensive, we left to go home. Later on however, he asked if I wanted one. My obvious answer was yes, yes and yes!! We proceeded to go online and get one, and I presumed I would be giving him the money for it. I was wrong. He turned round and told me that it was a gift from him!!!!!!!! I don't think I stopped thanking him for the whole day...
Now I know there are hundreds of reviews about the Naked palette, so I will not make this a review. The world doesn't need another one. I will however, make this an appreciation post. Because I sure do love this! I recently featured it in my Current Favourites video and rambled on a bit about it in that as it is definitely a favourite.
The colours are gorgeous! I have already created several looks from them (with a little help from Youtube) and am really getting to grips with it. I'm learning what colours work together, so if I'm ever in a rush and want to do a quick smoky eye, I have my colours ready. I've found that Bootycall, Tease and Pistol work well for a grey smoky eye, and Half Baked is fab in the crease of the eye for definition. I've also discovered my favourite shades! As well as the ones mentioned, I also love YDK and Blackout (because who doesn't love a good ol' matte black eyeshadow?!
The brush that comes with the palette is also pretty something. People who own it always say they are the only brushes they keep from palettes, and I'm with them on that. Great for creating different looks, you get a small tapered brush for precision, and a fluffy brush for blending.
From L to R: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper |
From L to R: Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol |
From L to R: Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout |
Now I am definitely not the world's best swatcher, as you may be able to tell. But I tried :) the only one that didn't really come out well was Foxy, because that shade is basically the colour of my skin...great as a base shadow, not so great for swatching!
But all joking aside, this palette has now become my staple item! It makes it into my everyday makeup routine many a time, and has (sometimes) replace my sacred cat eye flick *cue screams of shock and terror*! So if you're thinking of getting one, just do it. Your eyes will thank you later.
Do any of you own any Naked palettes? What's your favourite shade?

As a blogger, you've got to love a good event. It's one of the perks, but sometimes there are so many people at one event you get a bit lost in the crowd. That's why I love little events- events where only a select few are invited- as it feels a lot more personal and special. You get more time to talk to other bloggers and the PR people who have organised it, and really get to know them other than just listing them as a 'contact'.
I was kindly invited to TRACE Publicity headquarters to attend their sock styling event in association with SockShop to celebrate the beauty of socks. I (of course) jumped at the chance as, if you don't know (if you don't, you must have really turned a blind eye to my continuous ranting and raving about them) I adore socks. But even I wasn't prepared for the amount of socks there...SO MANY SOCKS! They even had a sock wall, as you will see from the photos below. As well as a tonne of socks, we were spoilt rotten with cakes, sweets, lemonade and champers.
I got to also meet some super lovely bloggers! As well as Sophie who I already knew, I met Tashi, Amelia from Heart Shaped Rose, Amy from Fashion Nymphomaniac, Charlotte from Crave Green Velvet, Chantelle, Jack from Oh So Jack, Alexia from Smells Like Fashion and Kate from Little Miss Winney. And one of the highlights was definitely Gemma Cairney popping in to pick up some stuff!
Along with the socks, there were also rails of clothes, stacks of shoes and an abundance of jewellery for us to dress up in and once we had finally decided on our outfits, we had our pictures taken for SockShop's Pinterest competition (check it out here)! Here are my outfits that I styled:

How do you style up socks?

I have recently fallen in love with TRACE Publicity. After attending a sock styling day run by them at their offices (post about that up soon) and discovered what lovely people they are, I was super excited to be invited to the Juicy Couture Fall 2015 Press day run by TRACE. Held at the Regent Street store, I knew I was in store for a lot glitz and a hella load of pink. But I was mildly surprised...
Upon entering and being shown around by my lovely friend Sophie, I discovered that the old Juicy had been slightly tamed. The collections contained a mixture of sophisticated fabrics in bright colours, to monochrome staples. It was almost like Juicy had a grown up from a matching tracksuit teenager to a fun life-loving 20 something.
We were constantly treated to canapes and Prosecco (who cares if it was lunchtime...), as well as a beautiful shellac manicure by MILK Beauty. Shellac is supposed to last for about 2 weeks before chipping, ideal for me as my nail varnish normally starts to chip after the first couple of days!!
I was really intrigued by the tight quilted padding on these bags...a great twist on sports luxe! And the trainers are also one to watch too- who doesn't love a bit of studding?!
The pink glitz hadn't disappeared completely of course...otherwise it wouldn't be Juicy Couture! |
"The Juicy Couture collection embraces the season with a freedom of expression and an effortlessly cool new look. A bold attitude and a glamorous allure make for an assertive yet feminine collection of luxe wear-now silhouettes that can take her from the streets of Downton LA to London's Chelsea scene."
The key pieces I spotted were tweed overcoats, mod skirt suits, statement bomber jackets and a tonne of sequin embellishment.
"A mod rock-and-roll vibe of edgy leather, romantic florals, flirty A-lines, eyeliner and skinny jeans...the nouveau cool collection sets the tone for fall with a 60's and 70's remix of bold-yet-flirty looks with a bit of rebel edge."
It wasn't just all luxe wear; we also got a peak at the lounge and sports wear! I can tell you now, the pajamas are super soft and the sports wear are definitely worth a look at- there were some awesome lined shorts to help your body breathe during exercise, and some awesome crop tops that I would consider wearing outside the gym...
And last but not least, the kidswear. Which I'm seriously considering losing weight for. How adorable is this fur jacket?! I'm hoping and praying that they bring out an adult version of this, because I need this in my life!
What was your favourite piece from the Juicy Couture Fall collection?
