NEW VIDEO: Vlog #1 Filming With Katie & Bertie

Hi everyone! I've always wanted to have shot at doing a vlog, especially as so many Youtubers took part in 'Vlogmas' this year! So I took the opportunity while filming some more videos with my friend Katie to vlog my day...and this is the result!

Let me know if you like it, as I'm thinking of doing some more of these in the future! And you'll hopefully be seeing the videos we filmed that day very soon!

Do you think I should carry on with vlogs? And do you have any other suggestions of videos that you'd like to see?

Merry Christmas + Updates

Hi everyone! This is just a quick post to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a lovely day, and got to have some ‘you’ time! I was able to have some time off to spend the time with my family and friends - this is one of the things I love about Christmas! We’re now in that awkward little time between Christmas and New Year where everyone’s recovering from eating too much chocolate (me especially) but I’ve had a right ol’ busy time filming videos and shooting blog posts, as well as some extremely exciting news that I’ll be sharing with you all soon!

I also just wanted to take the chance to thank you all for your support with Away With The Fairies; it started it out as a fun hobby but has now become a big part of my life. I’m always blown away by your kindness and love, and I really appreciate every page view, comment and follow that I get! 2014 is going to be a very exciting year, and I can’t wait to share it all with you guys!!

Thanks sooooooooo much again for everything! I love you all!!!!!!!

I discovered Persunmall.com about a month ago, and haven't stopped loving them since! They do a mix of strong on-trend pieces and pretty girly pieces, and have some evening dresses to die for! So if you're looking for a new exciting online shop to hit, I really recommend Persunmall.com!! These are some of their recent items, and I'm seriously in love with the burgundy lace dress (I've got my eye on the white one too) and the black tote bag (I'm in need of one of these)! The denim shirt dress has a real Scandinavian feel about it, a real investment piece that you'll wear again and again! And who can resist a good old pair of classic jeans eh?

Are you guys loving Persunmall.com too?

Songs and Artists I'm loving at the moment!

Music is a big part of my life. It gets me through my day really. I feel a bit lost if I don't have the radio, my iPod or a CD on in my room. I just love it, as there are songs that you can relate to, have a cry to, or just dance around without a care in the world to. So I thought I'd share a bit of my music taste with you! And I promise that I'll try not to go on too much about Taylor Swift *has fingers crossed behind back*. I said I would try, okay!

Starting off are my Top 5 songs I'm loving!

TOP 5 SONGS:

1. Taylor Swift- Sweeter Than Fiction
Okay, okay, I stumbled at the first hurdle. But none of my other ones are Taylor. However much I love her! So this is her new one for the film soundtrack of One Chance, the film based on the story of Paul Potts, who won Britain's Got Talent in 2007. I really want to see this film, so naturally I had to check out the soundtrack too!

2. Lorde- Royals
This always has me singing along. The simple melody and harmonies always make me feel at ease. A real chill out song.

3. Half Moon Run- She Wants To Know
I loved this band since Full Circle, and they just keep churning out some great tunes! A song for easy days with its soft vocals and slightly dark undertones.

4. Ben Pearce- What I Might Do
The dancer in me adores electronic music. And this is no exception! Great beat, and I adore his voice!!!! One of those songs where you just want to dance in the middle of the street like you’re in a flash mob.

5. Luke Friend- What Makes You Beautiful (cover)
If you saw The X Factor a couple of weeks back, you may have seen lil’ Luke Friend cover One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful. When I saw the song choices the day before the show, I had a small feeling that he was going to smash it. And I was right! I think he partly used The 1975’s arraignment for their cover of WMYB in the Radio 1 Live Lounge, but he still made it partly his own, especially with that beaauuttifulll voice of his! I’m a sucker for a rock voice, okay? I’m definitely a #friendie! Also, I have his EP Live Ont’ Sofa on repeat; it’s a perfect mix of covers and originals. I have fallen head over heels in love with it, and him!

BAND TO WATCH:

Darlia
I first heard of Darlia when Fearne Cotton played them on her show a while back, so I thought I’d check them out. And I really really like them! They’re an alternative rock band from Blackpool who are causing a stir in the music world at the moment. Think dark grungy lyrics that you can still sing along to but that pack a punch and awesome riffs. My fave is their single Napalm; it’s one of the songs I dance around my room to. A lot.

So, a real mixture there, right? I was brought up on so many different styles, from rock to R’n’B to folk to musicals, so I appreciate different styles in their own ways. And I get asked a lot who my favourite artists are, and I really cannot give me a simple answer! But, for those of you who have asked, I shall now tell you the artists that I hold close to my heart:

Mumford and Sons
Bruce Springsteen
Coldplay
Taylor Swift (of course)
Paramore
Destiny’s Child
The Who
Led Zeppelin
Deep Pruple
Fall Out Boy
Linkin Park
Bob Marley
Christina Aguilera
Jimi Hendrix
The Beatles
Maxïmo Park
Avril Lavigne

What songs and artists do you love at the moment?

OOTD: Fit and Flare

Recently, I went on a bit of a charity shop haul, and I was going to do a haul video on it, but I've been having a few problems with my camera at the moment, and so quickly shot this outfit while I could. As my town is literally run by charity shops (we have 7 last time I counted), I'm always spoilt for choice when it comes to new finds! I always get a warm fuzzy feeling inside when I buy something great from a charity shop and know that the money is going to a good cause. And this trip was an extremely successful one; I found some great stuff that will be featuring heavily in my outfits.

The charity shop items in this outfit are the trench coat and the shirt underneath my jumper. I think they are probably my favourite items out of my haul! The Topshop trench coat was one that I caught out of the corner of my eye on the size 10 rail, and it was just so pretty that I had to pull it out and have a proper look! It is a thing of beauty, but I was a little worried that it may be a tiny bit small...but it wasn't! It fit me perfectly and even though it didn't have any tags on it, it had only been worn once at the most! It's in a classic beige colour, and nips in at the waist to honour the hourglass shape as seen on the Prada and Dior catwalks. Unfortunately, it didn't come with the belt, but I actually didn't mind as it still holds its fitted shape without it! I'm on the lookout for a replacement one anyway, but it isn't too much of a problem.

The shirt is a fitted M&S one that is over-sized, but still has some shape to it to show off some femininity! And being brought up watching Quadrophenia with a Mod for a father, I was naturally drawn to the monochrome checks that I know so well! They just look gorgeous on this shirt! I have a feeling I'll be wearing it for a long time!

Coat- Charity Shop (originally Topshop)
*Jumper- F+F*
Shirt- Charity Shop (originally M&S) (similar)
Leather look jeans- French Connection
*Boots- Kaleidoscope* (similar)

What's your favourite kind of coat this season?

I dance three times a week, and I usually find that, as the weather gets colder, my UGGs keep appearing on my feet! The reason why? They just keep my feet sooooo warm, which is very important to me! So when I heard that one of my fave bloggers MediaMarmalade had teamed up with UGG's 'Feels Like Nothing Else' winter campaign for a competition, it would've been silly not to enter! If you're interested in entering, then you can check it out here!

Fingers crossed!

Dreams of summer and laughter…

I recently went to the Monsoon/Accessorize S/S 14 press day for Naked Fashions, and loved every minute of it! The great thing about press days are that you make so many contacts, and meet some incredible people! You can see my post on it here.

One of the best things was that I got to finally meet some of my fellow bloggers face to face! Bloggers can pick out other bloggers in a sea of PR people, and so soon enough we had all congregated together and were getting on like a house on fire.

Annie and Jess doing some outfit photos

Jess looking amazing!

The yummy treats we were spoilt to!

Took me straight back to summer!

Typical blogger ;)
