Trade fairs: Spring Fair

If you work as a buyer for a company, then I’m sure you know all about trade fairs and shows. But if not, then let me explain. Trade fairs are where buyers and companies are able to meet make contacts and discover new brands that they might be interested in working with. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to go to Spring Fair and Pure London with DFNG, and it was incredible to see a whole different side to fashion and buying that I hadn’t been exposed to before. I have to say though my feet ached after all that walking and standing around, and my shoulders needed a while to recover after carrying all the bags we got given! But it was a lot of fun so I didn't mind so much.

In this post, we'll have a look at what I got up to at Spring Fair.

Spring Fair at the NEC Birmingham was more of a gifting and homeware show, with more than 3,000 suppliers launching over 300,000 products, so there was a lot to see!

Adorable designs at Travis

They literally had the biggest Yankee Candle stall ever...I actually nearly cried! Shame we couldn't buy any of it. Actually, that was probably a good thing; I would've done my bank account a lot of damage!

Aren't these contemporary clocks from London Clock Company stunning?!

Thanks to Delia for taking these pictures of me :)

Fox Jumper- New Look (similar)
Cross shirt- Cameo Rose
Leather look jeans- French Connection
Biker Boots- New Look (similar)

And here’s my outfit! We had to get up at around 6am to travel up to Birmingham for the start of the show, so I just wanted something comfy that I knew would work together without too much fuss. I chose my new fox jumper from my recent sales haul as it’s really warm and great for layering (which you need if you’re at a big event like this if you’re walking around for ages). I layered my black cross shirt underneath and teamed them with my trusty leather look jeans (surprise, surprise). I actually thought my black biker boots would be comfy enough for doing a lot of walking, but it turns out I was wrong! My feet felt like they were on fire about two thirds of the way round, and I think it was because they were quite hard on my feet and didn’t have much cushioning on the insole.

Have any of you also been to a trade show?

Minted.com wishlist!

*Sponsored post*
Recently, my bedroom has been in the slow stages of being redecorated, and I've been busy looking at different paints, designs and pretty things to put in it when it is finished. So I was delighted when I was contacted by Minted.com; I was opened up to a whole range of lovely goodies, especially the wall art (you can find the whole collection here)! As there are so many lovely things, I decided to make a wishlist of my fave picks:

Minted.com wishlist!
1. Swift Fox Wall Art
2.
Sanibel Island Stripes Personalized Stationery
3. Eiffel Tower in the Rain Wall Art
4. Haberdashery Journal
5. Vintage Camera Wall Art
6. Hello Love Journal
As well as stocking the things above, they also do invites, décor, cards and gifts. They also embrace DIY, and have a blog called Julep that has loads of fab tips, new trends in the design world and DIY inspiration! My favourite post so far is definitely the DIY foil coasters; I’ll be giving them a go!

What do you guys think of Minted.com?

OOTD: Let the good times roll...

As promised, here's a little OOTD of some of the items I picked up in my most recent haul! I wore this look to the Simon Ekrelius AW14 preview that I went to on behalf of Nakedfashions.com last week, and you can find out how I got on here.

Thanks to Auxjourslejour for the photo!

And thanks to my friend Delia for taking these photos of me :)

Black roll neck- New Look
Skirt- New Look

Brogues- New Look (similar)
*Bag- Aldo* (similar)
*Ring- Present*
I was literally a walking advertisement for New Look! But with these sale picks at such a great price, I couldn't resist! I was so happy that the roll neck worked with the skirt; you know when you can visually see something working in your head, but you're not sure whether it will in real life? Luckily it worked! I really liked the 1960's feel to the outfit, it reminded me of Marilyn Monroe/Audrey Hepburn outfits in wintry hues. I added my burgundy brogues (that I'm seriously in love with) to the look for a 'flat heel' option, but while still keeping the look smart and prim. I topped the look off with my tan Aldo bag and a gold ring to add a bit of warmth to it.

What do you guys think of roll necks?
