The day we had our tech run and dress rehearsal for my theatre school's show :) I have covered up some of the music for copyright reasons with music from the Youtube Audio Library so if it looks like we're dancing off the music, we're not ;) Thanks to Krishna, Reisha and co for filming some of the day while I was busying prancing!
Give this video a thumbs up if you liked it and enjoyed following me round!

Day 2 of LFW for me consisted of just one show, and this day I decided to brave heels (surprisingly my feet survived)! The show that I attended was the Dora Abodi show, which I was really looking forward to as I had heard amazing things about her previous collections. The main thing about the SS15 collection were the prints. Clashing, monochrome, fine art, geometric...there were so many, and they created a spectacular show just by themselves! Waists were cinched in with thick leather belts to break up the print dresses and separates. On other looks, the silhouette hung loose with swing dresses and oversized jackets. I also spotted more feathers (see my write up of day 1 to see more feathers) in a more ragged and matted fashion, showing that this upcoming trend is really versatile whatever your style. Jewelled metallics stood out against black leather, showing an example of how brocade opulence can be worn through spring and summer. Then came the interesting final piece. Just go and look at it for yourself. There are no words.
I'd been dying to wear my midi skirt out and about again, but unfortunately chose an extremely warm day to wear it *facepalm*. However, I did feel very pretty (cue lots of skirt twirling) and my little heels survived the journey there and back. I love the print at the bottom of this skirt, it's such a great little details! Thank you to Aura for taking my photo!

Here's my latest haul of goodies from the end of summer to now. Sorry if the lighting changes halfway through, I forgot to put half of my lighting up. Well done Georgie *slow sarcastic clap*

So finally (yes finally) I'm starting on uploading my LFW posts. Weeks afters. Oh dear.
The thing is, as I may have touched on in previous posts, things have got busy. And I mean real busy. Not just in my social and acting life, but in my blogging life too. This was something that I never expected or foresaw. I'm definitely not ungrateful for it, but it took me completely by surprise and whipped me up into this beautiful crazy world that I'm still slightly in awe of. I still can't quite believe that something that started as a hobby as turned into this wonderful thing.
One of the milestones of this was being invited to LFW. And on top of the tickets I received, I was lucky enough to win tickets to the DAKS show and an overnight stay at the Rosewood London. I will be doing a separate post on our stay at the Rosewood, as this post is incredibly long already!
So Friday came around, and Cecilia and I trundled up to London with overnight bags in hand. Unfortunately we couldn't drop our bags off til 2:30pm, so we had to take them to the DAKS show. Bit of a pain dragging it around but sometimes you have to make sacrifices :P
The show was held at the Royal Opera House, so we were already expecting great things. What we didn't expect was to walk in behind Rosie Fortescue. Like...WOW! The invites too were so cute! Very glad we got to keep them!
AND WE HAD SEATS!! ROW 3!! And when it finally hit me how amazing this experience was, I found myself saying to Cece: "Now shall we sit opposite Hilary Alexander?"

And these are my highlights from the show! It was definitely a great way to kick of my first ever LFW! The collection takes inspiration from dance (the dancer in me did a little pirouette when I found this out) and the beauty of the Royal Opera House. There were some beautiful pieces and textures that I've already seen start to filter in to the high street and street style, especially feathers. The outfits were very clean, with grey and dusty mauve being the central colours. Also simple classics like the shirt dress, bandeau dress and white shirt were given updated details with feathers, pleats and caped sleeves. Bags were small and structured to highlight the subdued elegance of the collection. What I loved about some of the pieces as well was that the back was just as interesting as the front. It was almost a surprise when the model would walk past and you would see a column of silver or neat ruffles on the back.

And here's what I wore! I was kindly given this gorgeous Verity Anne co-ord to try and thought it would be a great day 1 outfit, seeing as it was my busiest day and extremely warm! I love the simple boxy structure to the top with the flattering purple pinstripe pattern, it was great rushing around London in as it kept me cool and didn't restrict me too much. I also wore my vintage check shirt with it to break up the striped with my trusty fedora and chain Very bracelet which I was kindly gifted too.

Cecilia looked absolutely stunning (as always), so much so that she got street styled quite a few times that day! Typical ;)

Most of the shows I attended were at the Freemason's Hall just round the corner from Somerset House, a short walk from our hotel and right across the road from Itsu!

So while Cece had an afternoon nap into our amazing hotel room, I went to my second show of the day- Hema Kaul. I didn't realise we had to que for most of the shows but thankfully I got into all the ones I was invited to and could attend.
This collection was definitely one of my favourite. I adore girly dresses, and some of these pieces were definitely princess-worthy! There were some gorgeous floaty prom style silhouettes with 3D florals galore as well as daring cut-out minis and waterfall hems. Lace was also a key feature adorning the backs of dresses and co-ords (I'm very happy they're sticking around)! Hair was big and bouncy with deep side partings. Rough Copy were on the frow and seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot as they bopped along to the music!
SNOG were there to provide much needed fro-yo's to us hot and flustered fashion week goers, and were a great pick-me-up while queuing for shows.
Lastly we had Ashley Isham, and this show was definitely more of an experience than just a catwalk show. The show started with one of the models already on the catwalk, and then slowly as the models started to walk down the catwalk, more models popped up from the floor to pose. The collection was a mixture of eastern glamour show-stoppers and sports luxe with some crazy headgear thrown in! You could definitely see the influences of the shapes and embellishment of sarees with wrap dresses and gorgeous chain details. Structure was brought to the silhouettes with large belts and harnesses. The sportier items seemed to take influence from tennis gear with white shirt dresses and caps for cute day pieces, while the end of the catwalk showcased a stunning lace and fringe dress.
What was your favourite outfit from the catwalks of day 1?
