March wishlist!

March wishlist!

I realised that I hadn't done a monthly wishlist since last year (sorry), so I thought I'd get back into it with my March wishlist! So here's what I've been lusting over this month!

1. Topshop Patterned Blanket Aline Skirt
With global prints being a big hit this month, this skirt is the perfect way to work this trend! With the clashing prints, its a fun way to throw colour into an outfit. You can vary how you wear too; as just a statement piece, or by clashing it with other prints to get a true traveller vibe!

2. Nicole x Missguided Crop Top With Fishnet Sleeves in Black
Everyone has been going nuts for the Nicole x Missguided collab, and I'm one of those people! The perfect mix of sophistication and sports luxe is so appealing and wearable and will make great staples! Crop tops are essential to any well edited wardrobe and this knockout piece ticks all the boxes with fishnet sleeves and concealed zip fastening at back.

3. Accessorize Tropical Palm Tree Baseball Cap
Aaahhh tropical prints. They always make me think of summer, going to the beach, Pina Coladas...they are just such a great way to perk up a horrible day! This is a great nod to the trend, especially at this time of year when you may not want to crack out the Hawaiian shorts just yet ;)

4. Topshop Satin Trousers
Cigarette trousers are a fab way to embrace the spring's awkward length trousers. And with the likes of MediaMarmalade sporting them, I think I shall be too! These are a great sophisticated pair that'll look amazing dressed up with a crop top and sandals, or dressed down with sliders and a baseball vest.

5. Illesteva Leonard round-frame acetate mirrored sunglasses
Hit refresh on your sunglasses collection and say hello to the new kid on the block; round framed mirrored sunglasses! These have the right mix of sports luxe, while the rounded frames stop them from becoming too much like you're just about to go skiing. I adore the tortoiseshell arms combined with clear acetate; such a great update!

6. H&M Handbag
A girl can never have too many handbags. This is great shopper with lovely details like gold zipped outer pockets and tassles. It's huge too, so great as a day bag when you're rushing around. Also, the colour in a nice update from the classic black shopper.

7. Giusepe Zanotti Black Leather Open Toe Boots
You gotta dream, right? The stiletto heel, the peep-toe cutout, and fringe detailing...what's not to love! If anyone has found similar boots but for a less credit card-melting price, then do feel free to comment below!

8. Bobbi Brown Eye blender brush
I actually haven't been lusting over many beauty products this month, but I have been having a bit if a thing for makeup brushes. This beauty from Bobbi Brown is ideal for blending (like it says in the name, obvs), and has a great rounded shape to really get into the crease of the eye. Plus as I learnt on set recently, like handbags, you can never have too many makeup brushes!

What have you been loving this month?

OOTD: Sunny days

Finally! The weather has started to become acceptable! All these wonderful sunny days are really getting me excited for summer; especially after the horrible weather we've had over the winter.

So, slowly but surely, I'm starting to brave the weather and show a bit more skin. In the case of this outfit, a crop top. However I'm not completely flashing off my tummy. Oh no. For the moment, my pinafore will be covering it up until summer truly arrives. At this time of year, when the weather can be really unpredictable, I prefer to layer, as you never know when its going to be amazingly hot, or bloody freezing!

The great thing about this ensemble is that the crop top is just the right length to show a little bit of flesh underneath the pinafore, making it great for this time of year! And if the weather gets nice, I can take off the cardigan and lose one or both of the straps on the dress. I'm also loving my Accessorize sunglasses that were gifted to me in a goody bag; I adore the circular shape, and its a great pop of colour to an outfit. They're just really fun!

*Cardigan- H&M* (similar)
*Sunglasses- Accessorize*
Crop top- Primark (similar)
Denim pinafore- Topshop (similar)
Ring- My Flash Trash (similar)
Brogues- New Look (similar)

How have you been enjoying the sun? Are you braving showing some skin yet?

London Fashion Weekend: February 2014

So here I was again, getting my fix of London Fashion Weekend! I again went on the Thursday, but this time I went in the morning as, knowing what I'm like, I would need all the time I could get! I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed a little bit smaller than last time...it felt like there were fewer exhibitors, but I'm not sure. I wanted to take a bit of time with this post as I find it's a great resource for the upcoming season, something that you and I can look back on for inspiration.

Anyway, we went to go and get our goody bags (designed by Julien Macdonald) and found this lovely lot inside:

What I got:

  • Lavazza coffee- very glad I got this because a) I'm a coffee addict and b) my supply of Lavazza coffee was running low ;)
  • Essie Nail Polish in Naughty Nautical- I haven't tried this yet, but will be doing a review soon!
  • Label M Brunette Dry Shampoo- I usually do very well with the Label M freebies I've been getting from LFWend, but unfortunately I can't use this as it's too dark :(
  • Beauty Bar- happily ate this while waiting for the catwalk to begin; such a yummy treat that's healthy for you too! Will definitely be getting these again!
  • Maybelline New York Baby Lips Hydrate- MY NEW OBSESSION!!!!!! I have fallen in love with this (I now understand the hype)! Super easy to apply and it's a lot less fiddly than Vaseline.
Then it was catwalk time! Unfortunately our seats were a little further back than last time, but we were further down so we could get a great long view of the catwalk. Warning: if you're going to be taking pictures from the third row, you will get serious arm ache from holding your camera up!

We were again in the capable hands of Angela Scanlon, who eased us through each collection.

1. Precious Metals
Designers such as Antonio Beradi and Balmain went for vibrant hues with an iridescent finish. Shiny separates and lot's of sparkle! Here are some examples:

What I saw: Embellished trousers, metallic pinks, silks, baroque gold and black, hi-shine skirts, masculine tailoring, pussy-bow shirts.

2. Flower Power
With the return of spring came the return of the blooms. Jonathan Saunders and Preen showed beautiful examples, from sixties inspired prints to oversized motifs. Here are some examples:

What I saw: Graphic florals paired with stripes, biker jackets, bold florals, white trousers.

3. Lace Embrace
This season, one of the ways to layer is with lace. Take inspiration from Elie Saab and enbrace sheer! Here are some examples:

What I saw: Pencil skirts, crochet, peplum, sheer panels, crop tops, paired with bright colours, monochrome.

4. Good Sport
The sports luxe trend continues into SS14- think exaggerated silhouettes, netball skirt pleats and round shoulders from the likes of T by Alexander Wang and Milly. Here are some examples:

What I saw: Bejewelled necklines, collars, leather, bomber jackets, big belts, sheer overlaying, sweatshirts, PU, strap heels, stripes.

After the show, we had a quick look around the pop up shops in the courtyard and in the main house. I did buy two things; a Charlotte Taylor polo neck and a ring from My Flash Trash, which I wore to the Calzedonia Bip Ling #DenimDays customising event I went to recently. You can see photos of them here!

Oh hello Taylor Swift dress ;)

Did any of you go to London Fashion Weekend too?
