Christmas Gift Guide: Small Businesses + Giveaway!

Christmas Gift Guide products from Small Businesses

AD - PR products marked with a * sent to me with no obligation to post

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Christmas is coming and, you guessed it, it's Christmas gift guide time!! I always get so excited each year when I start to plan my gift guides, as I love treating my loved ones and finding gifts is almost like a hobby for me!

This year, it was really important to me to focus on products from sustainable & independent businesses as well as from some of the bigger brands we know and love.

So, to kick off gift guide season, I'm bringing you some amazing picks from some incredible small businesses. This year, I think we have all realised how precious our small independent businesses are and want to support them as much as possible, so it only felt right to dedicate a whole gift guide to them, especially with Small Business Saturday coming up this Saturday!

There are also a lot of organisations trying to spread the love for small businesses, like Just A Card who are in their fourth year of their Indie Week where they try and spread the word about shopping local for Christmas as an independent alternative to Black Friday.

So, here are my picks of some of the small businesses that I know and love, and that you should be taking a look at too. Also, keep an eye out for a little giveaway at the end of this post...

Take a look at some of my other gift guides:

Tweezerfile

TWEEZERFILE

Tired of having blunt tweezers and having to buy new ones? The truth is, you don't need to be chucking them away (which is such a waste) when you can sharpen them!

Tweezerfile* (£19.99) is a file that sharpens your tweezers really easily so that you can bring your blunt tweezers back to life! I absolutely love the concept of this, and have been so impressed with how much this has sharpened up my tweezers (to almost like brand new)!

This is a great sustainable tool to have in your beauty kit, and one I will be keeping in mine for a long time yet!

#SHOPLOCAL PAGES

One place that I've seen popping up on Facebook is #ShopLocal pages, where businesses local to you have a virtual stall and post their products.

The one that I have for my area has been packed full of incredible products, and I think it's such a fantastic way to browse for Christmas presents as you have everything all in one place (almost as if you were strolling down your local high street and having all the shops and market stalls all there for you).

I'm not sure if this is just something my area is doing, but it's definitely worth seeing if your area is doing something similar!

Concept Skincare Grace Serum

CONCEPT SKINCARE

I have been banging on about Concept Skincare ever since I discovered them a few years ago and was one of the first small businesses that sprang to mind when planning this gift guide.

Esther is such an incredibly wonderful soul who is so knowledgable about what she does, and this really shows in her products. They are all organic, vegan, and handmade by her, as well as working wonders on your skin!

You've probably heard me rant and rave about her Grace Serum (£20-£35), which is the only thing that clears up my folliculitis effectively, but I also love the Rose Water Toning mist (£10), which is so refreshing on the skin, as well as the Relax Bath salts (£15) that really help me to wind down after a long day.

THE INDIE STORE BY MUDDY STILETTOS

Another fantastic online marketplace for small businesses that I'll be using this year for Christmas presents is The Indie Store.

Curated by Muddy Stilettos, this site stocks everything from clothing, homeware, beauty, food & drink and experiences, and you can even shop by county meaning you can support businesses local to you as well as from further afield.

I've already had a trawl through the listings in my county and I'm loving the look of the products from Lizzie Owen Art, Holiday In A Box, Doorstep Bartender and Fabric

Also, until Monday 30th, you can get some incredible discounts between 10-25% off with the code MUDDYXMAS.

Typology Salicylic Acid Serum and 7 ingredient cleansing oil

TYPOLOGY

Another amazing small beauty brand business that you should check out is Typology. This sustainable brand is vegan and all the ingredients they use in their products are sustainably sourced, as well as their packaging being recyclable.

On top of this, the actual products themselves are lush! The targeted serums are a game-changer for dealing with specific problems like the Salicylic acid + Zinc serum* (£19.80) which you apply directly to blemishes. The 7 Ingredient Cleansing Oil* (£14.80) has also become a must-have in my skincare routine - it's just the perfect winter cleansing oil for removing makeup without irritating my skin.

They also have some wonderful Christmas gift sets too if you're really looking at treating yourself or someone special this year.

Water-To-Go filter water bottle

WATER-TO-GO

Water-To-Go are a brand I've loved for a few years now, ever since my mum bought me a bottle. They are such a travel must-have for me, as the filters in the bottles allow you to fill up from anywhere (even from a stream).

I've also found they are a great eco choice as I honestly can't remember the last time I bought a single use plastic bottle. When I'm out and about, I can go to any water source and fill up, knowing that the filter will clean the water as it passes through.

I have the 50CL blue bottle (ad-aff) (£14.99), but they also do a 75CL version (ad-aff) (£27.99) and active version (ad-aff) (£29.99) in lots of different colour options! I also love mixing and matching the filters (£9.99) (ad-aff) too, which are 100% recyclable.

I also have a discount code for you all, which gives you 15% off your order! So if you fancy a little treat from me, type in GMB15 at the checkout.

Pura Cosmetics Strawb Daiquiri lip scrub

PURA COSMETICS

Around the same time I discovered Concept Skincare, I also discovered Pura Cosmetics and the wonderful Rose and have been in love with her lip scrubs ever since.

Again, I've mentioned this brand a few times, and for good reason! Her products contain natural ingredients, are vegan & cruelty-free and all the packaging is plastic-free! The scrubs (£4.99) do such an incredible job at removing dead skin from the lips as well as smelling and tasting amazing! They're also the perfect size to pop inside someone's stocking this year.

Some of my favourite flavours are Strawb Daiquiri*, Blissful Bubblegum, Prosecco Bubbles and Passionfruit Martini. They also have some lovely scrub and balm duo Christmas sets starting from £8.49 that would put a smile on any beauty lovers' face.

Miss Soy Rose Petal Candle in a tin

MISS SOY

Lastly, I had to end with one of my favourite local candle brands. Miss Soy is run by the wonderful Corinne, who makes incredible handmade organic soy wax candles. The packaging is 100% plastic free, with it either being recyclable or biodegradable.

We also need to take a minute to talk about the incredible scents - they are honestly some of the best, and most realistic scents I've had the joy of smelling! Corinne puts so much time and effort into perfecting them and it really shows in the final product.

Some of my favourite products are the Candles In A Tin (£6) (as you can see, my Rose Petals one is well-loved), Cake Melts (£6 for 6), and the Gin & Tonic Glass Candle (£20) where once you've burnt the candle, you get a G&T glass!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now onto the giveaway! You can win your own Tweezerfile in Coral or Petrol Blue to keep your tweezers going strong! All you have to do to enter is fill out the Rafflecopter giveaway below:

The winner will receive one Tweezerfile in the colour of their choice.

The giveaway starts from the publication of this post and ends on 08/12/20. The winner, chosen at random, will then be informed by the email they provided upon entry.

This giveaway is open to UK residents only.

If entrants are disqualified for not following the rules and there no viable entrants left, this giveaway will be moved over to my social media channels to find a suitable winner.

Best of luck! I really hope you enjoyed my first gift guide of the year! Are there any small businesses you love that I should know about?

  30. Retro gifts are like a delightful blast from the past! Whenever I'm on the hunt for a unique and memorable present, I turn to retro gifts to add a touch of nostalgia to the occasion. Whether it's a vintage-inspired record player, a classic video game console, or even a throwback-themed T-shirt, these gifts never fail to bring smiles and spark conversations. It's amazing how something from a bygone era can resonate so strongly with people today, creating a bridge between generations and reminding us all of the timeless appeal of the past.
