This is a paid partnership with Boohoo.
Since returning from backpacking last year, it's been a bit harder to talk about fashion on here, mainly because I had no money to my name.
That happens unfortunately when you travel, but even once I started earning again I stayed in my money saving default even though I was home and didn't have to think about budgeting as much as when we were away.
However, in the last couple of months or so, I decided that I wanted to try having a capsule (ish) wardrobe.
I think one thing that travelling taught me was that if I was able to live on 10 or so outfits that I loved for 5 months, then my wardrobe could definitely learn a lesson from that.
After this realisation came a huge cull of clothing, shoes and accessories that either didn't fit or I didn't love, which were then sent to more loving homes.
If you want me to talk a little more about my wardrobe declutter or my capsule wardrobe that is coming along nicely, then do drop me a comment at the end of this post.
Once I had finished my clear out, I sat down and made a list of things that I need to replace or that I wanted to add to my wardrobe- both in the form of basics and trend-led pieces.
Two of the things on my list were bodysuits and leopard print.
I've always been a little cautious when it came to leopard print. The most I would brave was a leopard print fur jacket - some would say that's pretty extreme - but compared to the amount of leopard print out there now, I was only really dipping my toe in.
But I got more and more inspired as I saw so many amazing bloggers and Instagrammers sporting the print, and when I saw some lovely pieces at some of the Christmas in July events I've been to recently, I decided that leopard print was something I wanted to try out.
As for bodysuits, I think you'd agree that they have pretty much become a staple in people's wardrobes. As well as being versatile, they pull off the perfect 'tucked in' look without the effort and are as comfy as a bathing suit.
When I had been shopping for around for bodysuits, one of the top sites that came up was Boohoo because they are so darn affordable!
Even though we are still currently in a heatwave, there have been a few days when the weather has cooled off slightly and I've found myself wearing three-quarter length or full-length sleeves. I've also found I've been reaching for this when I've been going out in the evenings when the temperatures aren't going to be as balmy as during the day.
And I've had so many compliments when wearing this.
I've found that the colour really compliments my skin tone, giving it a bit of warmth, and the cut of the wrap part is very flattering on bigger busted girls like myself.
This bodysuit is made of polyester so it's not great in the midday heat (I'm trying to stay as sweat-free as possible, regardless of fashion) but as I said this is great in the evenings, and even as a transitional piece come September.
Yes, I did just hint at autumn!
I'm really excited to wear this with some more colour as I've found leopard print to be a great neutral paired with other colours. When I've been looking for a staple outfit, however, I've been pairing it with my favourite and much loved Levi cut-off shorts so that the bodysuit can do all the talking.

I also can't go without mentioning this gorgeous toucan cross body bag from Skinnydip. It has become my favourite summer evening bag, mainly because it can fit so much in and how cute are the toucans?!
The raffia material is also a nice nod to summer's straw bag trend that has been everywhere lately, but as it's black it will be timeless if the trend goes out of style.
This bag is sadly out of stock but their mini purse version is still in stock.

So thanks to this bodysuit from Boohoo, my obsession with leopard print has well and truly started. I'll definitely be adding more pieces to my wardrobe over the next few months so watch this space...
