I
have never been to one of LDN Meetup’s events before, so when I heard they were
holding a blogger conference at the Hotel Russell in London , I knew I had to be there! I always really enjoy
blogger-run events, as they know exactly what bloggers want as they are ones
themselves (I’m currently sitting in bed sulking because I can’t be 5th View
Bloggers event run by my good pals Albertine and Jess as I’m under the weather).
Events like this are always great meeting new bloggers and brands face to face
so you can start a personal relationship with them, so if you’re just starting
out in blogging and want to grow your blog, start networking!
Lauren, Abi and Jenny did a fab job on the day as you will see from below, so let’s take a look at what they had planned for us:
When
we arrived at the Hotel Russell we were taken straight down to our conference
rooms, having our OOTD’s taken on the way by Comb. We were given three different
talks by three brilliant speakers (all veteran bloggers), and even though they
had to rush a bit as time was short, I learnt a lot and made loads of notes!
We
were also left some goodies on our tables by Ohh Deer and Jelly Belly which definitely helped us get through
the talks!
Our
first speaker was Sarah Moody and her talk was on how to get more
from your blog. She really knew her stuff, talking about monetisation, product
reviews, and getting your name out there. I learnt a few new tips and things to
try to spice up the blog which I’ll crack into ASAP!

Our second speaker was Elizabeth Sellers
who is a UK Pinterest Ambassador. I found this talk really interesting, as even
though I do have a Pinterest account, I’ve never been sure how to use it or
promote this blog on it. But she was able to educate us in all of that so now I
have a feeling I’ll be quite addicted to Pinterest.
Our last speaker was Jasmin Charlotte and she was talking all things SEO. SEO is always a tricky subject to
understand (guilty) but Jasmin, who is a tech consultant, seems to know
anything and everything about it! She really broke it all down for us, and even
though she had to rush as we ran out of time, she sent us a pack with all the
information we needed.
We were given about 45
minutes to grab some sweet treats and some lunch before we headed over to the
rooms where the brands were waiting for us. Now, originally when I saw we had
been given 4 hours to network I thought I’d be done in about 2 hours. Oh how I
was wrong! It took me about an hour to complete the smaller room of the two,
mainly because I was either talking to brands, catching up with blogger I knew
or completing the twitter challenges to win prizes.
My faves Bee Good were there showing their products! Really want to try their hand creams (which are the only two products I haven't tried from them!)
Type the Hype are a new online PR company from the awesome people at Optimus PR. They focus on bringing bloggers and brands together in a simple no fuss manner.
It was great to see House of Fraser there showcasing their AW15 collection! I love the sequined Biba jacket and everyone was taking pictures of box bag and furry clutch...and I don't blame them!
I chatted for ages with Gemma from Jewellery Box! Jewellery Box was a brand that I looked up before the event, and their stuff is just so cute! I fell in love with the dinosaur necklaces, and their packaging is so lovely!
I'd also heard of Shoeaholics before the event, and when you put me in front of a whole load of gorgeous shoes, I'm dead to the world ;)
Thank you to the girls at LDN Meetups for creating such an awesome event, and also for the crazy goody bags! I felt very spoilt, as I'm sure everyone else did!
Gx

Yes definitely give them a try! They are so much fun and you meet some great people!
DeleteI had so much fun at the Big Blogger conference and I can honestly say that it has been my favourite blogging event so far. The workshops were perfectly counterbalanced by the stalls and brands who were dedicated to showing the bloggers a good time. I had such a lot of fun and will go again next time too!
